Phillies Roster Moves and Starting Lineup Ahead of Today’s Series Finale at 1:05

The Phillies will wrap up their four game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks today at 1:05. Ranger Suarez will take the hill for the Phillies, going up against Madison Bumgarner of the Diamondbacks. Ahead of today’s game, the Phillies made some more temporary changes to their roster.
Didi Gregorious has been place on paternity list, with him and his wife expecting a baby in the coming days. Gregorious is hitting .259/.286/.370 over his last 7 games, with 7 hits and 5 RBIs. Although he won’t be here for the series finale, and possibly tomorrow’s series opener vs the Nationals, Gregorious should be back in just a few short days.
Nick Maton has been recalled from Lehigh Valley. Maton has been up and down with the team this year, but with the recent injuries and COVID issues, he could be sticking around for the time being. Maton has been crushing the baseball as of recent, hitting .429/556/.857, with three hits and three RBIs in his last 7 games with the Iron Pigs.
JT Realmuto will be playing 1st base today, and could be seeing more time at first in the coming weeks. With Rhys Hoskins sidelined for the remainder of the year, this will give Brad Miller days off against lefties, and will keep JT in the lineup as much as possible. Realmuto has also been dealing with some shoulder soreness, and first base will be a lot easier to contain that rather than being behind the plate.
The Phillies will send out a pretty fascinating lineup to round out their series vs the Diamondbacks. Odubel will get the day off in center, as Bonifacio will get the start. Galvis will play short with Didi’s absence, Marchan will catch, and Segura will lead off at 2nd.
Ranger Suarez takes the hill today looking to close out and win the series. Looking to extend their win streak to three games, the Phillies will square off against the Arizona Diamondbacks in a Sunday matinee at 1:05.
