Trade tracker: Carson Wentz placed on Reserve/COVID-19 list

Just after returning to practice following his ankle surgery, Carson Wentz will be sidelined once again. Carson was placed on the Colts’ COVID-19 list earlier today and will likely miss a week or two if he tested positive.
There is no word yet on whether Carson tested positive or not and if he is vaccinated, which will determine how long he is out due to the NFL’s protocols. If Wentz misses the whole two weeks, that puts his return at September 13th, one day after their season opener against the Seahawks.
For those unaware, in order for the Eagles to receive a first-round pick from the Indianapolis Colts, Carson Wentz must play 75% of snaps this season or 70% and a playoff berth. Philly’s chances looked grim right after his ankle injury but he bounced back instantly. Now, this puts his ability to start week one in doubt.
Indy has dealt with numerous injuries to their offensive line, so even if Carson Wentz is healthy, fans will need to keep an eye on the Colts’ line to make sure they keep him healthy. For the Eagles, Landon Dickerson and Rodney McLeod are on pace to return soon, being activated from the PUP list this afternoon.
