Zach Ertz entered Eagles training camp this offseason with bleach blonde hair. For the millennials, he immediately reminded us of an Eminem “Stan” that we saw at the MTV Music awards years ago. Ertz, who everyone thought was going to be dealt over the summer, ended up staying with the Eagles and gave a great press conference before the start of the season saying he wanted to retire a Philadelphia Eagle and how he mended his relationship with the Eagles. 

Before week one against the Atlanta Falcons, Jason Kelce emerged with bleach blonde hair. We all thought that Kelce was doing it in solidarity with Ertz, his longtime teammate but now, we have some more information about the blonde haired center, who was drinking Bud Lights and champagne with Eagles fans and Jordan Mailata after the Falcons game. 

Friend of TLL, our guy Jeff Kerr, who appears as a regular guest on The Philly Pod, joined Jakib Media’s Birds 365 to tell us the origin story of Kelce’s new hair. 

Apparently, Kelce made a bet with Zach Ertz that he would be traded before the start of the season. As we all know, that did not happen, and now Kelce and Ertz both resemble Eminem Stans. 

As someone who has lost bets in the past and had to dye my hair bleach blonde, I definitely appreciate honoring a bet like this. For me, it happened around 4am in Ocean City New Jersey. I had a 3 cup advantage in beer pong and was feeling myself, made a bet about dying hair bleach blonde, and it ended with the opposing team hitting four straight cups to win.
