76ers sign second-round pick Charles Bassey to a three-year deal

After months of waiting, the Philadelphia 76ers have finally come to terms with second-round pick Charles Bassey on a three-year deal, according to a team announcement. Bassey was the 53rd selection in July’s draft from Western Kentucky.
Bassey will be on the 76ers’ 15-man roster, breaking away from the usual two-way deals late second-round picks receive. According to Shams Charania, the first year of Bassey’s deal is fully guaranteed, while the second year is partially guaranteed. Following Bassey’s deal, the 76ers now have filled all of their available roster spots ahead of next week’s training camp.
Charles Bassey will wear 23 with the Sixers, last worn by Terrance Ferguson last season. It’s unlikely he will see a lot of time this season, but Bassey could make an impact as the team’s third center behind Joel Embiid and Andre Drummond.
