Rumor: Cavs making nobody untouchable in Ben Simmons deal

It seems like Daryl Morey might’ve made some headway with at least one of the teams interested in Ben Simmons. According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Cavaliers don’t have anyone deemed untouchable in a deal for 76ers star Ben Simmons. Fedor did say that Evan Mobley and Darius Garland were the closest things considered untouchable, but it sounds like they could possibly be made available.
“Sources maintain the Cavs don’t have any ‘untouchables.’ However, prized rookie Evan Mobley and rising point guard Darius Garland are closest to that designation. The likelihood of either player being moved is incredibly low. That leaves Collin Sexton, Isaac Okoro and future first-rounders to help cajole a Simmons deal.”
The most likely package discussed is the one Feldo mentioned in his article, a deal centering around guard Collin Sexton and other pieces. If the Sixers could land Garland or Mobley, they should pull that trigger in a heartbeat. Both players are deemed for stardom, and Mobley would be far more valuable as a trade centerpiece for someone like Damian Lillard than Ben.
There have been rumblings about every possible situation with Ben Simmons, so there is no knowing what Daryl Morey is planning on doing. Some reports indicate a trade is occurring in the coming days, while others say this will drag into the season. Training camp is under a week away, and Simmons has made it clear he has no indications of attending.
