Report: Ben Simmons still intends on skipping 76ers training camp next week

Things look to remain the same going into 76ers training camp next week. According to Marc Stein, Ben Simmons still intends on sitting out of training camp while he awaits a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers. Meanwhile, the Sixers are still attempting to convince Simmons to report to camp.

None of this is new, but it shows that there has been no change in the stand-off between both sides. Daryl Morey refuses to trade Simmons for pennies to get rid of him, while Simmons wants a move out of Philadelphia immediately. If he were to sit out of training camp, Ben Simmons would be fined over $1 million with more fines on the way if he sits out during the season.

Currently, the only teams interested in Ben Simmons include the Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers, both of whom haven’t offered any attractive packages. Daryl Morey has reportedly wanted to wait until Damian Lillard potentially becomes available during the season, but Lillard seems content in Portland currently.
