Rumor: Ben Simmons is done playing with Joel Embiid, wants a center who fits his play style

Things continue to deteriorate beyond repair between Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers. According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Ben Simmons is done playing with Joel Embiid. Amick stated that it is not a personal issue between the two but that Simmons feels playing next to Embiid isn’t conducive to his style of play.
The rift has been known for a while now, and Simmons took to Instagram to let his feelings be known regarding his preferred playstyle. Simmons liked an Instagram post saying he should be used more like Giannis Antetokounmpo. While that is fair, Simmons refuses to be consistently aggressive or develop any semblance of a jump shot, two things that Antetokounmpo has done.
Meanwhile, Joel Embiid has adapted his game to suit Simmons better over the last several seasons, and Simmons cannot continue just to pass the buck. All this report says is that Ben Simmons is unwilling to develop a jump shot and not change his playstyle in the slightest.
There were rumors earlier this offseason that there was a significant rift between the two, but Joel Embiid took to Twitter to publicly deny the claims. Embiid was one of the key members who attempted to fly out to Simmons in California, but was turned away.
Joel Embiid made sly comments to this idea during media day yesterday, and developing a jump shot was the primary concern for the 76ers front office this offseason before Simmons’ trade request. Ben Simmons skipped media day and will likely never return to Philadelphia until he is traded, whenever that may be.
