Rumor: Ben Simmons might show up to 76ers training camp but still sit out with an “injury”

Ben Simmons looks like he might be giving in to the Philadelphia 76ers. According to Jake Fischer, Simmons might finally report to Philadelphia after reports that the team will withhold the 25% of his contract that is due today. In retaliation, Simmons would return but still not play, stating that he is, in fact, “injured.”
This is also the same Ben Simmons who has had videos posted of him all offseason working out without any issues. Couldn’t Simmons even try to disguise his hand in this scenario? Also, I’m sure Daryl Morey and Josh Harris will be more than welcome to provide Simmons with every possible medical scan to clear him of any injury.
Recently, reports detailed the amount that the 76ers could fine Ben Simmons for refusing to play for the team. Even now, it no longer seems to be in the team’s best interest for him to play. Joel Embiid has discussed publicly how he’s upset with Simmons’ comments while Ben continues to go on Instagram liking posts about how he was done wrong instead of facing the music.
If Ben Simmons does decide to show up to 76ers training camp, it’ll be quite the stand-off. I’m sure if Simmons tries to pull the injury clause, Morey and Harris will respond with other ticky-tacky ways to combat his excuse.
Update:
According to Shams Charania, the Sixers will not pay Ben the $8.25 million due today and Charania stated that Simmons is still not showing up to Philadelphia and is aware of the ramifications.
