Rumor: Pacers disucssing Caris LeVert in trade with 76ers for Ben Simmons

After being the first team to have an offer leak this offseason, the Indiana Pacers still look to be in the mix for Ben Simmons. When Jason Dumas first reported their interest, Malcolm Brogdon appeared to be the headliner, but it looks like another play could be involved. According to Ian Begley of SNY, one player offered has been guard Caris LeVert.

“League sources confirm that the Pacers are among the teams who have talked to the Philadelphia 76ers about a potential Simmons trade. Caris LeVert was among the players brought up in those communications, per SNY sources.”

Begley went on to say that he had no inclination to how serious the discussions were between the two teams. Over the last few days, the Pacers have been one of the teams brought back into the mix for the disgruntled star.

An offer of just LeVert wouldn’t be enough for Ben Simmons, but if it’s a package of him and Brogdon, that is undoubtedly the best offer on the market. Neither are stars, but they are both starting-caliber and could give a massive boost to the starting lineup and the Sixers’ depth.

While the Sixers wait on the right deal for Ben Simmons, they have continued through training camp and the preseason, playing their first match against the Toronto Raptors last night, losing 107-123.
