Eagles place guard on Reserve/COVID-19 list

The Eagles have sent another player to the COVID-19/Reserve list. Earlier today, the Eagles announced that they had placed guard Sua Opeta on the reserve list. Opera was just named to Philadelphia’s active roster last week, and it’s unclear how much time he will miss.Â
For reference, Zach Ertz tested positive early in the week before their matchup against Dallas, and he was cleared before Monday. There are several variables to consider regarding how much time Sua Opeta will be out, like if he tested positive or if he’s vaccinated.
Without Opeta, Philadelphia has Jack Anderson and Nate Herbig as viable options to backup at guard if Landon Dickerson or Jack Driscoll goes down with an injury. Several players have been placed on the COVID/Reserve list throughout the season, but it hasn’t been detrimental to the team.Â
If Opeta remains out, a likely promotion is in place for UDFA lineman Kayode Awosika to help bolster the Eagles’ offensive line for Sunday’s match against the Carolina Panthers.
