Ben Simmons meets with Doc Rivers and Daryl Morey at 76ers’ practice facility

Ben Simmons is officially back. According to John Clark, after returning in the midst of their game last night against Brooklyn, Ben Simmons returned to the 76ers’ facility today and spoke with Doc Rivers and Daryl Morey. Clark also stated that Simmons is undergoing a physical and going through the process to return to the team.
The return of Simmons has been streamlined over the last 24 hours. There were rumblings that he could eventually return to the team just yesterday afternoon, and now Simmons is already back in Camden. Following last night’s game, Joel Embiid and Doc Rivers stated how they are excited to have Simmons back in the fold.
A return isn’t permanent, though, with a trade still being the end goal for Ben Simmons and Rich Paul. Still, this is an opportunity for him to return and better his trade value while helping the team on the court. If Morey and Simmons did talk today, it would be the first time since August when the trade was first requested. Joel Embiid said earlier that he has not spoken to Simmons since the playoffs ended.
Philly has three days before their final preseason game against the Pistons in Detroit on Friday. Following that, they open up their regular season next Wednesday against New Orleans. At this rate, a return for Ben Simmons could happen very early into the NBA season.
