76ers Fall To Pistons in Preseason Finale 112-108

In the final preseason game of the season the 76ers made a late effort, but ended up falling short against the Detroit Pistons 112-108 with a thin roster. Without the main guys like Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and yes even Ben Simmons, the Sixers relied on the bench units to push them through the last game action before the regular season begins. The Pistons were without their best players, Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes tonight as well.
Andre Drummond continued his impressive preseason with 17 points, 7 rebounds and made a few quality passes from the high post on back door cuts, but still does entirely too much when given the liberty. In extended minutes, Tyrese Maxey had a nice game as well with 16 points, along with Isaiah Joe who had himself a great preseason, had 14 points on 50% from three tonight. Paul Reed was a major part of the come back efforts, adding 15 points during his minutes.
One silver lining of a preseason finale is being able to see the end of the bench guys like Jaden Springer, Aaron Henry, and Shaquille Harrison who have flashed some great defensive instincts. These guys gave the team a much needed push throughout the fourth quarter although it didn’t turn out to be enough.
The Sixers begin their season on Wednesday in New Orleans against a short handed Pelicans team, and could welcome back their franchise point guard in the process as well. Could be interesting, stay tuned.
