CJ McCollum tweets jawn, sends social media into an unnecessary frenzy

While CJ McCollum was tweet during last night’s Warriors-Lakers game, he used an interesting word that has caused 76ers to immediately overreact and assume it provides a hint at his future in Portland and possibly as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers.
When talking about LeBron James using the very popular meditation app Calm, McCollum tweeted the following:
“That Calm app got bron quick releasing treys. Let me download this jawn.”
Jawn huh? Interesting choice of words there, CJ. Although reports of McCollum not being on the 76ers radar in a trade package that would involve Ben Simmons, the fact that he’s now using a word that was most definitely created by the city of Philadelphia is interesting (not really).
In Philly, we are no strangers to pandering (Shout out Nick Sirianni), so it is possible that CJ knew what he was doing by using the word Jawn, especially while we are living in strange times with Ben Simmons trade rumors.
Obviously this article should be taken with a grain of salt and I’m sure it’s absolutely nothing. As for a real update on what’s happening in Portland, Damian Lillard reiterated yesterday that he would not be leaving Portland.
During the offseason CJ McCollum praised Joel Embiid’s $200 million super max deal by saying the following on his podcast Pull Up with CJ McCollum:
“He could’ve played ten games, and I still would’ve given him $200 million. He’s that good.”
At the end of the day, the tweet meant nothing. The 76ers don’t want CJ McCollum, and this blog was a complete waste of time. It’s time to shift focus to Joel Embiid and the 76ers as they open up the 2021 season against the New Orleans Pelicans tonight.
