Ben Simmons said his back hurt, the 76ers cleared him, he went home

Ben Simmons went to Camden today for his scheduled individual workout. The 76ers announced last night that they would not have a team practice today, ahead of their home opener tomorrow night against the Brooklyn Nets. Instead, players would have scheduled individual workouts.
Simmons came to the facility and then immediately left without doing his workout, which left his status to play tomorrow unlikely. Simmons has been clear that he would do “whatever it takes” to get out of Philadelphia. Well, except for participating in practice, talking to his teammates, and shooting the basketball, but I digress.
After the initial reports came out about Simmons and his workout, Woj dropped another tweet stating that Simmons entered the facility and told the Sixers training staff that he had back tightness.
This dude is such a fraud and is honestly handling the entire situation like a child. Who is giving him this type of advice? Ben Simmons can’t fake an injury. While that does sound like something that could occur, 76ers fans do not have to worry. The Collective Bargaining Agreement discusses this loophole and states how faking an injury to this extent is impossible. I’ll include the full quote below, but to summarize, if there’s a dispute about a player’s injury, a non-biased third party can be called upon to give an official physical to the player.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I really don’t see how Ben Simmons and Klutch Sports don’t realize that you simply can’t fake an injury? Is it possible that back tightness is so general that it can’t really be diagnosed and that Ben Simmons has beaten the system? I sure hope not. I don’t want to give Ben Simmons an injury designated at all. I want him to get fined until he’s broke and homeless living in Kensington.
Woj continued tweeting about Simmons, saying that the 76ers medical staff did actually clear him to play. So there goes any injury concerns. Nice try, Benjamin. Your injury was so predictable. I believe the kids call that “CAP”.
Shams then chimed in saying that Ben Simmons is currently not mentally ready to play for the 76ers, which honestly makes sense. I don’t know how anyone could be mentally ready to return after four months of complete chaos and one of the biggest cities in America absolutely hating everything that he does.
At the end of the day, Ben Simmons brought this upon himself. I don’t feel bad for him in the slightest. Every move he and Klutch Sports have made has been wrong. They continue to be wrong. If you want to get traded, you report to work, practice hard, shoot the basketball, and then speak with the 76ers organization in a mature matter about your desire to be traded. All of this shit happening now is a complete joke.
Make it stop.
