CC Sabathia obliterates Ben Simmons on the R2C2 podcast

Cheers to CC Sabathia. The Philadelphia 76ers kicked off the 2021-22 season last night with a 117-97 win against the New Orleans Pelicans. Of course, the ugly cloud that is Ben Simmons is still hanging over this team, as he was suspended after just three practices with the team for bad conduct. Simmons, who has no intention of ever playing in Philadelphia again, is expected to return to the team and practice tomorrow but I definitely wouldn’t hold your breath.
There have been several media members commenting on Ben Simmons but given the fact that they are on national television, I feel like most of the comments have been reserved. That is until I listened to CC Sabathia on the R2C2 podcast talk about Ben Simmons and finally, we got what every 76ers fan has been thinking over the past few weeks, or even months at this point.
CC Sabathia weighed in on what the 76ers should do next with Ben Simmons.
“This is why I’m not a GM; I would do everything I could not to pay this guy…You think you can play somewhere else? Nobody else wants you. You can’t shoot the basketball. This guy is walking around like he’s LeBron. Go the fuck home. You only only showed up cuz you want to get paid. It’s obvious you don’t want to be here. [Joel] Embiid is tired of this shit. Everybody’s tired of his shit.”
“I’d literally do what they just did. I would suspend his ass for as long as I can so not have to pay that motherfucker. Period.”
Before we continue with how amazing Sabathia was while talking about Ben Simmons, I think it’s important that everyone takes a quick break and watches Shane Victorino hit a grand slam off Sabathia in the NLDS playoffs.
Okay we’re back. Cheers to you CC Sabathia. I honestly couldn’t have said it better myself. The 76ers have been fantastic so far handling the Ben Simmons situation. Do not let anyone else tell you differently. There is no chance in hell that Daryl Morey and the rest of the organization and bend the knee and meet Ben Simmons’ demands. They are absolutely ridiculous in the first place and it’s up to the 76ers to set an example for the rest of the league. Young All-Star players cannot sign max contracts and then want to leave a year into the deal. Ben Simmons needs to accept accountability for his actions (he wont) and play basketball. If he doesn’t want to do that, then guess what? He shouldn’t be paid.
Ben Simmons is delusional and needs to stop walking around like he’s LeBron James.Everything that’s happening now is a direct result of him not shooting a basketball. It’s almost crazy to even type that.
