Last game of the home-stand; Flyers Game 4 preview vs the red-hot Florida Panthers

The Flyers are back in action tonight, hosting the 4-0-0 Florida Panthers. Florida is on a roll, defeating the Penguins, Islanders, Lightning and Avalanche in pretty easy fashion. They’ve scored a total of 18 goals in their first 4 games, placing them 1st in the league in GF (Goals For).
Philadelphia hasn’t been shy in finding the back of the net either, placing 2nd with Washington and Pittsburgh, with a total of 16. The Flyers are the only team out of that group (FLA, WSH & PIT) that have only played 3 games, the rest have all played 4 games.
The goal-tending matchup between the Panthers and Flyers is the one of the main things I’m most excited to watch tonight. Hart vs Bobrovsky, both goalies have had good starts to the seasons. In 2 starts, Hart has a 2.44GAA and a .921sv%. Through 3 starts, “Bob” has a 1.99GAA and a .944sv%, allowing 2 goals in 61 shots in his most recent 2 games. Both offenses have found early success, so I’m interested to see what team can continue that success against opposing goalies who are playing well right now.
Cam Atkinson had a maintenance day yesterday after falling pretty hard after scoring a goal early in the 3rd period against Boston. He’s fine and will be in the lineup tonight, looking to continue his early success (3G-1A-4P in 3 games). Ryan Ellis was another name on the maintenance list, but will not be the lineup tonight.
Ellis is currently dealing with bumps and bruises per AV, with AV adding in he’s confident he’ll be ready to go for their 3-game western road-trip next week. Due to Ellis’ absence tonight, Nick Seeler, a fan favorite in Philly already, will be in the lineup tonight vs FLA.
Can’t forget this
Flyers’ projected line-up tonight vs FLA – 7pm
Giroux – Couturier – Konecny
Farabee – Brassard – Atkinson
Lindblom – Laughton – JVR
NAK – Thompson – MacEwen
Provorov – Braun
Sanheim – Ristolainen
Yandle – Seeler
Hart
With Ellis out, I’m interested to see if they move Provorov to the point and throw another forward in PP2 group. Or, if they give Sanheim a shot to show what he can do on the PP. It’s pretty disappointing losing Ellis, the 2nd unit has been on fire recently and have easily been better than the 1st unit. We’ll see if they can keep it going without #94 tonight.
Personally, I’m feeling a G or Couturier goal. Big game, against a really good team, give me one of the leaders. Puck drops at 7pm. Lets. Go. Flyers.
