Somehow we missed Kwame Brown talking about Ben Simmons for 16 minutes on YouTube last week

The voice of the people spoke on Ben Simmons last week and some how I missed it. To the readers of The Liberty Line, I sincerely apologize. Kwame Brown fired up the video camera and talked about the Ben Simmons saga that has been haunting the city of Philadelphia and 76ers over the last four months.
Here is the full 16 minute video of Kwame Brown talking about Ben Simmons:
Takeaways
The first piece of advice Kwame Brown had to offer was “you need to fire that agent, he ain’t treating you with respect.”
Brown continues his rant saying that Rich Paul basically misplayed the entire situation and after months of saying that Simmons doesn’t want to be there, Simmons is now back in Philadelphia. He questions how Rich Paul and Klutch Sports could send Simmons back to Philly, where fans are super angry, to try and make it work after all the shit that has happened. Brown isn’t wrong. Klutch Sports and Rich Paul completely jacked up this entire situation and made it a million times worse for Simmons.
That we can agree on.
Brown also suggests that Ben Simmons doesn’t want to play with Joel Embiid because Embiid commands the block and given the fact that Ben Simmons is 6’10, having Embiid on the block limits Ben Simmons from taking the ball down the court and backing down a defender in the paint. Although it would be nice, unfortunately Ben Simmons doesn’t do that. If he did, we could easily slide Embiid out to the perimeter or mid-range to hit a jumper. That’s something Embiid can actually do on the court. So I’m going to have to disagree with you there, Kwame.
Kwame Brown acknowledged that Ben Simmons was a talented young man and didn’t mean to disrespect him with his comments regarding the situation. However, he did say that Ben Simmons needs to show some respect and this is not how he should have handled this situation. Brown thinks that Simmons should have shut up and played basketball and handled his trade request privately and out of the public eye. Now that, is something I 100% agree with. We all know that Ben Simmons would have been and still would be better off coming out and playing with the Sixers, increasing his trade value, and ultimately get what he wanted in a trade out of Philadelphia.
Basically the entire rant is about how Ben Simmons needs to stop what he’s doing, start saying the right things, and go out and play basketball at a high level. Then and only then, will he be able to get a trade, and go to another team. That’s pretty much what everyone has been saying the entire time so there’s no argument here.
Of course, this video is from October 19th so there have been developments since then. That includes Ben Simmons speaking with Doc Rivers and the team, accepting responsibility, and he’s working on rehabbing a tight back and some mental issues before taking the court again.
Regardless, I love watching Kwame Brown talk. He just speaks his mind and doesn’t give a shit about anyone else trying to frame what he says about whatever topic he’s discussing. Can’t argue with that. We do the same here at The Liberty Line.
