Jason Kelce fined $10,000 for altercation with Raiders

After being flagged with a personal foul for unsportsmanlike conduct last Sunday, Jason Kelce has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for the penalty. Receiving fines for these calls is quite common, but this is one of the first fines for an Eagle this season. The call itself was pretty confusing, but with the NFL’s fines, rules are rules, unfortunately.
What caused the flag was Jason Kelce’s helmet was ripped off by a Raider, and Kelce subsequently lost his cool and got penalized after getting in a player’s face. For the majority of his career, the Eagles have turned to Jason Kelce as a leader, and last Sunday was one of the rare occasions in which he lost his temper.
It was perfectly reasonable to get this angry about what was done to him, especially with how dangerous it can be. The linebacker who ripped the helmet off, Corey Littleton, was not penalized nor fined for his actions. Kelce and the Eagles are back in action tomorrow afternoon against the winless Detroit Lions.
