Pick Tracker: Miami without Tua Tagovailoa in crucial matchup against Texans

Just ahead of their crucial matchup against the Houston Texans for draft positioning, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been ruled out. Tagovailoa has been dealing with a minor fracture in the middle finger on his left hand. Jacoby Brissett will be starting in his absence.

This matchup doesn’t mean much for the Dolphins, but it has significant implications for the Eagles. Miami and Houston are currently projected to own the 2nd, and 3rd picks in the upcoming NFL Draft. With a Miami loss, they will take a larger hold on the 2nd pick, which the Philadelphia Eagles own.

Alongside today’s game, the Dolphins also play on Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens, so Tua Tagovailoa could miss two games due to this injury. Miami is 0-4 this season when Brissett is under center, so there’s a decent chance this could go in the Eagles’ favor.

Currently, the Eagles hold the 2nd, 8th, and 14th picks in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft. Things could change drastically for Philadelphia, with five of their remaining games being against teams with a worse record than them.
