Pick Tracker: Colts, Dolphins wins hurt Eagles draft positioning

Things could have gone better across the board for the Philadelphia Eagles this week. Although a loss hurts whatever chance they had left of making the postseason, the Eagles slid up the board for the 2022 NFL Draft. While that is good news, wins from the Dolphins and Colts didn’t help their overall draft capital.

Currently, Philadelphia holds what would be the 3rd, 7th, and 14th picks in the upcoming draft. Miami won a crucial matchup against the Houston Texans, giving Houston a lead on the second overall selection. Even without Tua Tagovailoa, the Dolphins’ offense did just fine, and the group could be with Jacoby Brissett for this Thursday.

The Colts face the Jacksonville Jaguars this week, who currently hold the 5th pick in the NFL Draft. Trevor Lawrence is dealing with an ankle injury but should be able to play for the Jaguars. Miami will face a quick turnaround against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night while the Eagles go up against the 5-4 Broncos.

Houston has a bye week this week, so it’ll take some time for the Dolphins to make up ground on the second spot. These slides were expected, but with Carson Wentz continuing to play, the good news is that Philly will very likely own three first-round selections.
