Eagles promote Jordan Howard, injury updates ahead of Sunday’s game against Denver

After clearing way for him to join the active roster yesterday, the Eagles have officially promoted Jordan Howard ahead of Sunday’s game against Denver. Philadelphia waived cornerback Mac McCain to make room for the standout veteran. While Howard is returning to the team, the Eagles could be without some key players this week.
During this morning’s press conference, Nick Sirianni announced that defensive end Josh Sweat has entered concussion protocol. There’s no word yet on how severe the potential concussion was, so he could be back as soon as tomorrow or could even miss Sunday.
Meanwhile, after dealing with injuries against Los Angeles, both Darius Slay and Avonte Maddox are day-to-day. Slay looked alright on the sideline, and Maddox returned after missing time early in the game. Landon Dickerson appeared to be banged up but played through it, and Sirianni said he would be good to go against Denver.
Brandon Brooks should be headed off the injured reserve in the coming weeks but is not ready just yet. When he was initially ruled out, Lane Johnson said Brooks would be out roughly eight weeks, so after Denver is a possible return date. More information will be provided when the Eagles’ first injury report of the week is released later today, but outside Sweat, everything looks to be trending in a positive direction.
