Eagles-Saints Week 11 preview, odds, predictions

This afternoon, the Philadelphia Eagles are back in action in a critical battle at home against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are coming in injury-riddled, being without Alvin Kamara, Terron Armstead, Ryan Ramczyk, and of course, Jameis Winston. Meanwhile, the Eagles have Miles Sanders and Dallas Goedert back in the fold after dealing with injuries.
Everything is lining up for this to be a massive win for the Eagles. For the first time this season, the Birds will be bringing out the all-black uniforms in hopes of securing their first win at the Linc in 2021. The black unis always bring good luck, which is what they desperately need this week.
With a win today, the Eagles’ playoff hopes skyrocket from 25% to 40%, while a loss sends them down to around 9%. The Saints are most dominant in their rush defense, which is a tough matchup for Philly with how successful they’ve been on the ground. However, they can still be successful and don’t need to put up too many points if their defense can play as advertised.
Trevor Siemian has yet to be successful in an actual test this season, and it will be a challenging one this afternoon. Not because the Eagles’ defense is good, but he will be without his running back and both starting tackles, combined with a weak skills group. Jonathan Gannon’s soft zone should be enough, especially with the slight tweaks made over the last few games.
Odds via Parx Sportsbook:
Team: | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
Eagles | -3 (-107) | -150 | O 43 (-112) |
Saints | +3 (-114) | +123 | U 43 (-109) |
With playoff hopes on the line, the Linc is sure to be rocking all afternoon which will help Philadelphia’s defense out much more. There’s no reason why they shouldn’t walk away with a win today, and it’s shaping up to be a must-win game. Playoff hopes are riding on today, so hopefully, the Eagles will capture their 5th win of the year.
