Bryce Harper and Zack Wheeler both land spots on the 2021 All-MLB Team

Bryce Harper is your 2021 National League MVP. He slashed .309/.429/.615 in 488 at-bats throughout the 2021 season, with 35 HRs, 84 RBIs, 151 hits, 13 stolen bases, with an OPS of 1.044. He led the NL in slugging percentage, finished 2nd in WAR (6.45), and 3rd in average. Harper was the 32nd player in MLB history to win multiple MVP awards. 24 are already in the Hall of Fame and three others (Cabrera, Pujols, Trout) are definitely ready to punch their tickets as well.
Obviously, it was a no-brainer that he would be 1st Team All-MLB.
Fresh of being robbed of winning the Cy Young Award, Zack Wheeler landed himself on the All-MLB 2nd Team. Wheeler was 14-10 overall with a 2.78 ERA, throwing 213.1 innings with a 1.01 WHIP. He led the MLB in strikeouts with 247.
Corbin Burnes had a breakout season in 2021 and won the National League Cy Young Award, barely beating out Zack Wheeler who finished in second. Burns earned 151 points to Wheeler’s 141. Both received 12 first place votes from the Baseball Writers Association of America.
Cheers to both Harper and Wheeler. Now we move into the offseason and the Phillies have a ton of work to do. Time to turn the page and look towards 2022.
