76ers sent trade offer to Trail Blazers for Damian Lillard

Earlier today, ESPN reported on the situation between Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers and issues that could arise between Lillard and the new GM. The most significant problem was the future extension for the star, but there was an interesting tidbit regarding his future with the team.

According to Wojnarowski, teams are waiting on Lillard to officially request a trade before reaching out, but Philadelphia wasn’t one of them. The 76ers were the only team listed to have made an offer for Damian Lillard, while the New York Knicks never did.

As of right now, this is the first we have heard of a formal offer being proposed for Damian Lillard. The 76ers’ package likely included Ben Simmons, Matisse Thybulle/Tyrese Maxey, and picks similar to James Harden.

It was reported by The Athletic the other day that Lillard wants Simmons to join him in Portland, but Philadelphia isn’t interested in an offer from Portland, not including Lillard. Ben Simmons took to Instagram shortly after, liking a post regarding the above news.

No move seems likely before the end of the season, but in the meantime, the 76ers face off again against the Charlotte Hornets tomorrow night.
