Time to snap this skid; Flyers @ Devils Preview

It’s time for the Flyers to finally snap this skid. Tonight, Mike Yeo brings his 8-11-4 Philadelphia Flyers into New Jersey, looking to defeat the 9-9-5 Devils. You can catch the game on at 7pm on NBCSP.
Carter Hart gets the nod with Martin Jones recently playing in Monday night’s game against the Colorado Avalanche. Hart is 5-7-3 on the season, and currently holds a 2.95 GAA and a .911 SV%.
The Flyers could really use Hart stepping up and shutting the door on the Devils tonight. Like I’ve said countless times, he hasn’t been the problem this year, the team in-front of him as got to do a better job of not leaving him out to dry on an island every night.
Derick Brassard will re-enter the lineup tonight after missing about two weeks dealing with a hip injury. Brassard’s last game came on November 23rd against the Tampa Bay Lightning, where we saw him play only 2:42, and leave the ice never to be seen again until now. He’ll slot onto the 4th line in Max Willman’s spot, alongside Patrick Brown and Zack MacEwen.
I like the idea of slotting Brassard on the 4th line to give him a little time to get his legs back underneath him. Monday night was the first time since late October that we’ve scored more than 3 goals, so I love the idea of keeping those first 3 lines together and hope they continue to build chemistry.
Oskar Lindblom was thrown on the top line next to Sean Couturier and Konecny in Yeo’s first game as intern head coach. They’ve had a ton of success together in the past, and the idea of Lindblom on the 4th line was always absolute craziness to me.
I’m really hoping Oskar scoring that goal kickstarts the offensive production from him. He might not be able to carry a line by himself, but he’s a really nice complimentary piece on a good line.
Projected Line up vs the New Jersey Devils
Oskar Lindblom – Sean Couturier – Travis Konecny
Scott Laughton – Kevin Hayes – Cam Atkinson
Morgan Frost – Claude Giroux – James van Riemsdyk
Derick Brassard – Patrick Brown – Zack MacEwen
Ivan Provorov – Justin Braun
Travis Sanheim – Rasmus Ristolainen
Keith Yandle – Nick Seeler
Carter Hart
This is the first of a 3-game road trip for the Flyers. They have New Jersey tonight, Vegas on Friday and Arizona Saturday. Getting off to a strong start would be crucial in beginning to turn this thing around, and it needs to be lead by the offense and Carter Hart.
If you followed by bet on Monday night, you’re welcome for the cold hard cash. Claude Giroux coming out and scoring a point was the biggest lock in history. Tonight, I have another one. Parx Sportsbook is running a special boost, and I think I have to be all over it.
Flyers to snap this ugly skid in New Jersey is +160 right now. I like that.

I do genuinely feel like the Flyers will finally break this skid tonight. New Jersey hasn’t been very good lately, going 2-5-3 in their last 10 games. They’re a very young and beatable team, and I think that’s exactly what the Flyers will do tonight.
