Timberwolves have been in touch recently with 76ers regarding Ben Simmons trade

Well, this is definitely getting exhausting. It appears the Minnesota Timberwolves could be back in the hunt for Ben Simmons.
Shortly after Adrian Wojnarowski’s report regarding trade rumors heating up, apparently the Minnesota Timberwolves reached out again to the Philadelphia 76ers regarding Ben Simmons and what it would take to acquire him via trade. Still, the same hurdles that initially delayed talks still seem to be there, so who knows what the hell is actually going on.
As it has been said all along, the 76ers are still looking for an All-Star in return for Ben Simmons. Earlier today, it looks like that’s a “Top 25 talent” in the NBA according to all of the new reports on Twitter. The Sixers reportedly wanted Anthony Edwards or Karl Anthony Towns in return for Simmons but the T-Wolves (obviously) declined both offers. In return, the T-Wolves proposed a few other weak offers that the 76ers weren’t interested in. I’m not sure how KAT would fit on this 76ers roster anyways. Anthony Edwards on the other hand, would be fantastic, although I don’t see that happening.
With a change in leadership in their front office, maybe there’s a chance the vision for the future of the Minnesota Timberwolves has changed? My guess is still no, but I still wouldn’t mind D-Lo coming to Philadelphia along with a couple of other role players in return for Ben Simmons.
I still haven’t seen any report that provides any type of real information. It’s a lot of “according to sources” which as we all know by now, could mean absolutely nothing. This entire Ben Simmons saga has been filled with different sources and reports that have ultimately panned out to be big ol’ nothing burgers. Nothing shocks me any more.
It doesn’t seem likely Minnesota lands Ben Simmons, but they are the perfect partner for a three-team deal. While we wait, the 76ers resume action tomorrow night at home against the Golden State Warriors.
