Desnoyers truly earned his way into this position. The 2020 5th-round draft selection has improved every step of the way since joining the prospect pool, and now earned a chance to showcase his talents on the biggest prospect stage of them all. He’s been productive within the Team Canada selection camp games and made the squad over some notable names.
One player that stands out to is Hendrix Lapierre. Back in November 2020, when no hockey was going on, we watched QMJHL games religiously. Lapierre and Desnoyers were in a battle for the league lead in points early on until Lapierre got injured. Keep in mind, Lapierre was selected #22 overall, while Desnoyers was selected at #135 in the same year.

Desnoyers was always known as a defensively responsible player, and has found his way on the offensive end. He also has a great work ethic, and plays a style that undoubtedly bought him brownie points within the selection camp.
The 2022 World Junior Championships get underway on December 26th, and Team Canada is certainly a group to keep a close eye on.
