Rumor: Kings remain firm in their trade proposal for Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons rumors keep on flowing as we get closer to December 15th. Earlier today, we heard reports of the Lakers and Knicks both entering the ring as teams interested in trading for Simmons. Now we have another report from Jason Anderson of the Sacramento Bee saying that the Kings are shopping Buddy Hield and Marvin Bagley in hopes of getting a good player in return.
The 76ers had talks with Sacramento this summer regarding De’Aaron Fox, but the Kings weren’t willing to move Fox or include him in any type of deal for Simmons which is just brutal to read, I know. Fox is the golden goose in Sacramento and landing him in a trade would be ideal. As for Hield and Bagley? It’s not the worst thing ever but could easily be better.
Sacramento was listed as one of the teams pursuing Simmons this afternoon. But if what we learned in the past still holds true, any package headlined by this duo has or will be immediately declined by Daryl Morey. Bagley has failed to live up to half of his potential after being drafted so high. Meanwhile, Hield doesn’t fit the need for the 76ers team, with Seth Curry already doing everything Hield does.
Another piece to keep in mind is starting early January, Wells Fargo will require vaccination to enter the building, and this will extend to players. This mandate could affect acquiring Bradley Beal alongside Kyrie Irving, who are both unvaccinated. A trade could still occur, but they wouldn’t be allowed to play at home for the 76ers for the remainder of the season likely.
