Paul Reed named G-League Player of the Week

After a dominant slate of games for the Delaware Blue Coats, Paul Reed has been named the G-League Player of the Week. Reed has averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 50.5% in six games this season for Delaware.
Philadelphia hasn’t had a spot in the rotation for Reed this season so sending him to the Blue Coats is a win-win for everyone. It allows Reed to expand and develop his game without any risk while benefiting the 76ers’ G-League affiliate. It’s clear B-Ball Paul is the best player in Blue Coat’s history in his short tenure, having won the league’s MVP award last season.
If Reed continues on this path, he will likely join the numerous members of the 76ers’ rotation to come from Delaware, such as Furkan Korkmaz and Shake Milton.
Over the last week, the Blue Coats are 3-0 and haven’t lost since November 14th. Their mid-November loss is the Coat’s only loss this season, and they hold the best record in the G-League at 8-1.
Rookie Jaden Springer has also been in Delaware with Reed but will likely miss a few games after recently sustaining a concussion. The Blue Coats hope to continue their winning streak when they face the Westchester Knicks on Friday night. Friday’s game is the final matchup of the Showcase cup before the G-League enters their regular season on December 28th.
