Jason Kelce inspires Chiefs Thursday Night Football win

By now we’ve all seen Jason Kelce’s emotional response to his nomination for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. He talked about what Lane Johnson had overcome and how they are in the “business of hope.” If you haven’t watched the video of his response yet you definitely should.
“Lane Johnson, and what he’s openly come back from this year. And to think about the amount of people that he’s given hope to… That’s the business we’re in.
We’re in the business of hope. What we do every game inspires millions of people. What we do off the field hopefully inspires people and I think that is something that I’m very proud to be one guy — a part of thousands of men who do that,”
Jason Kelce is an incredible motivational speaker.
He’s the kind of guy that could make a hemophiliac run through a brick wall. Thankfully he (to my knowledge) hasn’t done that. That would just be cruel.
What he did do, via the above response to his Walter Payton Man of the Year nomination, was inspire his brother Travis Kelce to lead the Chiefs to victory. Via the Kansas City Star:
Travis Kelce arrived in Los Angeles mired in the worst-two game stretch he had experienced in six years, when a member of the Chiefs staff showed him a video. Kelce watched a man on the iPhone screen talk about hope — about providing it for others through football but also about never losing it himself. The speaker? A teary-eyed Jason Kelce, Travis’ older brother and an offensive lineman for the Eagles. Some 2,500 miles away, as the Chiefs felt their grip on a first-place showdown with the Chargers loosening, Kelce thought back to the message he had heard 24 hours earlier.
“To see him pour that emotion out there, that’s all I was thinking about out there on the field,” Kelce said. “Don’t let doubt seep in.”

Pretty neat. Travis put together an outstanding performance. He had ten catches for 191 yards and two touchdowns. One of which wound up being the game winning touchdown. All thanks to his older brother’s words of wisdom.
Does this mean the Eagles should get credit in the win column for this victory as well? That’s for the league office to decide. Rest assured I have sent them several hundred strongly worded emails already.
While we are on the topic of Jason Kelce speeches this feels like a good excuse to post the greatest oratory performance of the 21st century.
