Jason Kelce gets emotional talking about Lane Johnson when asked about his Walter Payton Award nomination

Jason Kelce is a finalist to win the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Today, he met with the media, Kelce responded to a question regarding his nomination. In typical Jason Kelce fashion, he replied with an answer about anything but himself.
Instead, Kelce decided to shoutout fellow teammate Lane Johnson, which led everyone watching down a path of emotions. Ladies and gentlemen, this is what a true Philadelphia athlete looks like.

“What we do every game inspires millions of people. What we do off the field, hopefully, inspires people and I think that is something that you know, I’m very proud to be one guy apart of thousands of men that who do that.”
When talking about Lane Johnson, Kelce complimented his teammate and acknowledged the struggles Lane had earlier this year with anxiety and depression. He noted that Lane Johnson’s openness and decision to be transparent about his struggles gave a lot of hope to people dealing with the same type of issues.
It’s amazing to see how much love and respect Kelce has for his fellow teammate and truly speaks numbers about him as not only a teammate, but as a person too.

It’s clear to see that Kelce’s emotions were running high talking about Lane, as he fought back tears throughout his response. Just another class act from Eagle’s center Kelce himself. There’s never been a doubt about how much Jason Kelce loves the city of Philadelphia and his teammates.

Kelce has also been known to crush beers down the shore during the summer and interact with fans in the stands after the game. There’s really no one more deserving of any type of award than Jason Kelce. Just give him the Walter Payton Award already.
