Playoff Picture: What do the Eagle’s Wild Card chances look like following Week 15?

Week 15 was bittersweet in regards to the Eagle’s chances at making the postseason. On one hand, next to nothing went right for Philly, but on the other, we are actually in a much better position than we were prior.
After the Eagles win against Washington, Philadelphia holds the 8th seed with a 7-7 record and is just on the outside of the NFC Playoff Picture looking in.
Battle for final wildcard spot:
- 7-7 Eagles
- 7-7 Saints (Eagles have tiebreaker)
- 6-8 Washington
- 6-8 Falcons
Preceding this weekend’s slate of games the main teams we had to root against were the Vikings and the 49ers; the Saints, Panthers, and Seahawks were also included in this memo however, Minnesota, San Fransico, and New Orleans apparently did not get the message and continue to put a dagger in our plans.
With how things have played out over the last two weeks it seems as though it is time to let go of the hope that the 49ers will have a downfall and instead focus our energy on rooting against the Minnesota Vikings and the New Orleans Saints.
There is still a lot that can change over the course of the next three weeks but at the end of the day, the easiest way for Philadelphia to break into this playoff picture is to continue winning and end up with a better record than Minnesota.
The Eagle’s remaining schedule consists of the Giants, Washington, and the Cowboys while the Vikings have the Rams, Packers, and the Bears.
If the Rams or the Packers can not hand the Vikings one pesky loss so that we can get ahead then throw in the towel, but for now, playoff hopes are very much alive.
