Nick Sirianni provides update on Miles Sanders’ hand injury

The Eagles will be without their top running back this Sunday against the Washington Football Team.

Nick Sirianni announced today that Miles Sanders suffered a broken hand and will miss this week, but won’t go on injured reserve. The good news is that the Eagles expect Sanders to return this season, which is also a positive sign for the postseason.

Sanders left the Eagles’ 34-10 victory over the Giants returning to the sidelines at the half with a soft cast on his hand. X-rays revealed a broken hand, but, he should eventually be able to play through it.

Jordan Howard suffered a stinger, but stingers are often minor and don’t force a player to miss more than a day or two.

With Howard in the backfield alongside Jalen Hurts and Boston Scott, the Eagles should still dominate the Washington Football Team on the ground. In other injury news, there is no update on guard Brandon Brooks who has been on injured reserve since the start of the season.

At this point, it’s highly doubtful Brooks will return to the field at any point this season, especially with how well Nate Herbig has been playing.

As the week continues, we will have a better idea about Howard and the other injured Eagles. But as it stands, the Eagles appear to have another healthy week before a crucial battle for a wildcard berth.
