Lane Johnson discusses being snubbed from 2022 Pro Bowl

Last week, the NFL released their nominations for the 2022 Pro Bowl, which included two Eagles in Jason Kelce and Darius Slay.

It came as a surprise that Lane Johnson wasn’t selected to the Pro Bowl or even listed as an alternate. The Eagles’ right tackle has been selected to three Pro Bowls during his NFL career. The three OTs nominated over Johnson include Trent Williams, Tristan Wirfs, and Tyron Smith.

Johnson was asked about being snubbed yesterday afternoon and voiced his frustrations regarding the situation.

“I was pissed. I’ll leave it at that, I was really pissed. As far as that, it just motivates me (for) whatever’s left of the season.”

The NFC is loaded with offensive line talent, but Johnson was well qualified to be selected. This season, Johnson is just one of two tackles in the NFL not to allow a single sack. His single allowed quarterback hit is tied with Jordan Mailata for the second-fewest in the NFL.

These numbers don’t even include the Eagles’ dominant rushing attack, leading the league in almost every statistic. It’s a shame that Johnson wasn’t even considered for the Pro Bowl, but hopefully, he can channel that anger over the next two games as the Eagles look to secure a Wild Card spot in this year’s NFL playoffs.

The Eagles face the Washington Football Team this Sunday.
