Apparently Mike McCarthy plans on playing Cowboys starters in Week 18?

The Dallas Cowboys look to be going into Saturday night at full strength. In a game that matters very little to both sides, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy made it pretty clear he won’t be resting his starters.
Two Quotes from Mike McCarthy Yesterday
“We’re going to line up to do what we need to do to win the game… I think playing up there in the weather in Philadelphia will serve us well.”
“We need to stay in a rhythm. This is our first time in the playoffs together. We want to go in there as strong as possible with momentum and play style.”
Why on earth would you play your starters in a meaningless Week 18, a game I assume the Eagles are treating like a preseason matchup? Even with Mike McCarthy saying this now, I highly doubt he’s speaking the truth. It’s more likely that Dak Prescott and company will get a few drives in before you see the bench players getting the majority of the playing time.
Just last Sunday, the Cowboys lost wide receiver Michael Gallup to a torn ACL, there’s no possible way Mike McCarthy would be stupid enough to risk further injury with more of his starters.
The Eagles’ opponent could change with a win, with some outside help from the Carolina Panthers delivering an upset win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I wouldn’t count on that happening either.
Remember last season when Doug Pederson reassured the media that Nate Sudfeld replacing Jalen Hurts in their Week 17 game was to better their chances of winning? Yeah. I’m sure it wasn’t because they wanted to keep Hurts healthy and get a better draft pick by losing, right?
I mean come on, even Skip Bayless thought that Dougie P. believed Nate Sudfeld would go in and win the game throwing the football and he’s never wrong.
Expect everyone to play Saturday night, but don’t be surprised if it turns into a Gardner Minshew, Cooper Rush quarterback duel by the second quarter.
