HISTORY: WR DeVonta Smith breaks DeSean Jackson’s franchise record vs. Dallas

Entering tonight’s game, rookie WR DeVonta Smith needed just 38 yards to break the Eagles’ single-season receiving record.
His 4-yard reception tonight from Gardner Minshew put DeVonta at 916 for the season, surpassing DeSean Jackson’s prior record of 912 yards.
The No. 10 overall pick has been exactly what he was touted to be coming out of Alabama — a highly-educated technician who is already giving top corners fits off the line of scrimmage. And now he’s the top rookie receiver in Eagles history.
With respect to DeSean Jackosn — he did set the record during a 16-game season; Smith had an additional contest to beat him out.
However, with how frequently Philadelphia runs the ball, it’s still an incredible accomplishment for the Slim Reaper.
