Joel Embiid drops 38 on the Spurs, 76ers win 115-109

The Philadelphia 76ers took a quick trip to San Antonio, Texas and walked away with a 115-109 victory against the Spurs. With the win, the Sixers still find themselves in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, 2.5 games out of the first seed.
The Sixers bounced back in a big way after letting a game slip away on Friday night in Philly to a shorthanded Los Angeles Clippers team.Â
Joel Embiid was phenomenal yet again, scoring 38 points to go along with 12 rebounds and six assists.
Strong Showing from the Supporting Cast
- Tobias Harris had another strong night, finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
- Tyrese Maxey notched 18 points with six assists.
- Furkan Korkmaz was another solid contributor tonight, scoring 17 points on 7-for-13 shooting.
- Charlie Brown Jr. was an absolute menace defensively and added 7 points on 3-of-6 shooting.
Joel Embiid: The Closer
The Sixers held a 13-point lead in the second quarter and stretched their lead to 15-points late in the third quarter.Â
In typical Sixers fashion, they couldn’t run away with the game and the Spurs battled back to make it close in the fourth quarter.
Luckily for the Sixers, they currently have the best basketball player in the world, and Joel Embiid closed it out late in the game.Â
Embiid drained two mid-range jumpers, a layup, a dunk, a beautiful assist to for a Korkmaz layup, and made two foul shots to lift the Sixers to a 113-109 lead with roughly 15 seconds left on the clock.Â
