Darius Slay wrecks Eli Apple, tweets epic lowlight tape after reckless shot at Jalen Hurts
Darius Slay did not take kindly to Eli Apple’s disparaging tweet about DeVonta Smith and Jalen Hurts. During a Twitter tirade earlier this week, Apple posted several times, insulting everyone from Eagles players to New Orleans, Louisiana, the hometown of Bengals teammate and All-Pro receiver Ja’Marr Chase.
The tweet read, “Lmao Jalen hurts his Qb he big mad still shaking his head” and was a response to a fan that posted a disparaging tweet about Apple from Smith’s account. From there, he continued to dig himself deeper and deeper into a hole.
Because Apple is a famously awful cornerback, fans ran with the opportunity to clown on him. Even current NFL players couldn’t resist.
Slay then opted to share Apple’s “Super Gremlin Remix” highlight tape:
Get absolutely fucked, Eli Apple.
You rarely see cornerback on cornerback crime like this, but man, is it a sight to see. Typically position groups share a sense of brotherhood across the league, but it was clear Slay had to put his bum ass in check. Especially when he’s talking crazy about Pro Bowl Alternate Jalen Hurts.
He had it coming, too. It seems that all NFL fans have some hatred for Apple in their hearts, myself included. He’s had a pretty mediocre career, but once he’s on a team with a ton of talent, he goes and starts picking fights with everybody in sight.
Sure, Apple may be in the AFC Championship Game. Sure, Slay’s season may be over. But he might have ended his social media career before our very eyes. Honestly, that would be the best-case scenario for all of us.
Since the Bengals are still playing, be sure to show your support for Eli Apple and company by rocking these new, limited edition jerseys! They were designed, of course, by the best dressed Eagle himself, Big Play Slay.
