Jalen Hurts sings Halo theme song in Paramount+ commercial with Eric Cartman and Pirate from SpongeBob Squarepants

During the AFC Championship earlier today, Paramount+ promoted their upcoming Halo television series, which is set to debut in March 2022. In their first commercial, numerous TV characters appear sitting by a fire humming the Halo theme, including Eric Cartman, the Pirate from SpongeBob, and…Jalen Hurts?

Paramount Plus has a streaming deal with the NFL, which is why Hurts appears with Austin Ekeler and Matthew Judon. Even more notable, is the fact that this isn’t the first time an Eagles player has gone on the record singing the iconic video game song.
In 2016, a college lineman recorded a video of himself perfectly singing the Halo theme in a locker room bathroom. That lineman ended up being Ian Park, who actually signed with the Eagles in 2018.
Park was a practice squad guy and was unfortunately out of the league quite quickly, but his video is one of the most iconic YouTube clips in recent memory.
Personally, I’m not a fan of the new Halo series so far. Cortana is now a real person, and they don’t even have Master Chief’s iconic voice? I voiced those opinions to friends who told me to go touch grass, so I digress.
Kudos to Hurts, though, who has begun to pick up some more advertisements recently, including one with Cadillac a few weeks back.
