Jalen Hurts’ used Cadillac ad means a Super Bowl trip for the Birds in 2022

Well, folks. He’s done it. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts all but guaranteed a trip to the Super Bowl during the game on Saturday night. No, he didn’t do it with his play on the field, although he’s been dazzling football fans all year long. Instead, he did so in a more unconventional (but all too Philadelphia) manner: appearing in a used car ad.
Yes. You read that right.
When I saw the ad on the broadcast Saturday night, I knew the ongoing beatdown by the Dallas Cowboys didn’t matter at all. Hurts was there, signature smile on his face, showing love to a local car dealership like his team wasn’t going to continue getting murdered on live television. In that moment, I felt serenity.
Don’t get what I mean?
Here’s Hurts heaping praise onto his used Cadillac from F.C. Kerbeck:
Was that not electric??? I mean my god, it’s got me ready to run through a brick wall and straight to LA for Super Bowl LVI. You can’t tell me seeing our QB1 hocking beautiful preowned vehicles doesn’t get your blood pumping at least a little bit.
Look, Heavy.com did a nice little piece on this with Philly fan reactions, but I think many folks missed the mark if only just a tiny bit. Of course, everyone recognizes appearing in a used car ad as becoming one with the city. Only the best, most beloved players are given that high honor.
Nobody’s buying cars from Jalen Reagor. Nobody gives a flying fuck how much JJ Arçega-Whiteside loves his new Jim Sipala Kia.
Now, guys like Fletcher Cox, our entire O-Line, and Jalen Hurts? They can sell me a car any day of the week.
That being said, people really need to understand how much that relationship between a quarterback and a city can impact winning. So I guess I’ll spell it out for all of you.
We are literally going to the Super Bowl.
Now, is it a little crazy for me to make that prediction based on a 30-second used car ad? Absolutely. Has that deterred me in any way? Obviously not.
If you don’t think Hurts’ used Caddy ad is a sign we’re headed to the Super Bowl, I honestly can’t help you. Meanwhile, I’ll be vibing shotgun on the Eagles bandwagon, and I’ll tell you, for a used vehicle, it’s pretty damn nice.
Maybe Hurts is onto something with these used Caddies…
