76ers are hosting the Grizzles tonight and they will do so without all-universe MVP frontrunner, Joel Embiid. The line for the game shifted from Sixers -3.5 to +3.5 when the news broke that Embiid would be out tonight.

If you got in on Memphis +3.5 beforehand you are in a great position but if you missed it, don’t you fret. Because Joey hot picks, aka Joey Props may have just found us a winner winner chicken dinner for tonight’s contest.

Now as for the Sixers game tonight, I’ve got my eye on guy in particular: Tyrese Maxey.

Currently Maxey’s over under is listed at 19.5 (-115). Those odds for over 19.5 have already moved once from -105 since Embiid is getting some much needed rest tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised if over 19.5 total points gets up to the -140ish range by the time tip off happens. The line might even get to 20 or more, which at that point I might start getting weary.

Let’s take a look at Maxey’s numbers this season. He’s putting up 16.4 a game and he’s shooting an impressive 40.7% from beyond. He’s put up 22+ points so far 10 times this year, not a ton but the times when he has there is one obvious trend.

SEVEN of Maxey’s top 10 scoring efforts this season have come on nights when Embiid hasn’t played. Pair that with the fact that Memphis currently gives up 23.08 points per game to point guards, which is bottom half of the league, and you’ve got yourself a real opportunity to cash some money with Maxey’s over.

This is one you’re most likely going to have to sweat out until the last few possessions of the game but hey, that’s why sports betting is the greatest creation ever outside of the air conditioner.
