Ben Simmons chimes in on his NBA future, continues to blame Doc Rivers and Joel Embiid for not doing enough to support him

Welcome to February 2022. We are 10 days away from the NBA Trade Deadline and the 76ers are a half-game out of first place in the Eastern Conference, coming off a very impressive win last night against the Memphis Grizzlies without Joel Embiid (rest). So in what can only be described as a perfect coincidence, we have some more news this morning about Ben Simmons.
Ben Simmons is now providing input on what he thinks will happen with his future in the NBA. I’m serious. The soap opera has now turned into a comedy. According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Simmons thinks Daryl Morey will wait until the offseason to move him for Nets guard James Harden.
Incredible insight from Simmons here, I have no idea how he has come to that conclusion. Maybe it’s possible that after he deleted his Instagram a few weeks ago, he fell behind on all the headlines that have come out over the past month with Morey literally saying that it’s likely he will wait until the offseason to move Simmons.
Simmons reportedly believes that Doc Rivers and Joel Embiid didn’t do enough for him, despite the 76ers’ head coach calling him numerous times and not answering any of his calls. To note, Embiid and a crew of Sixers players also tried to fly to California to visit Simmons, and he refused to meet with them.
Embiid also grabbed a microphone before the Sixers’ home opener and told everyone to love and respect Ben Simmons. Tobias Harris called upon 76ers fans give Simmons time to heal mentally. Matisse Thybulle accepted blame for Game 7 on JJ Redick’s podcast.
The list goes on and on, and further proves how psychotic Ben Simmons statement about the Sixers “not doing enough” really is.
In his privileged tirade, Simmons also said he is upset because he didn’t throw Embiid under the bus during their series against the Raptors in 2019. A series in which Joel was battling illness and Simmons was forced to play in the dunker’s spot due to his inability to shoot the basketball.
Moving Simmons for Harden isn’t news at all, but hearing it from the 3x All-Star himself is weird. Before today, I have never once heard an athlete ever speak on who they would be traded for. After almost 10 months of on-going rumors and complete chaos, to be so delusional on actually what happened with his own situation and his teammates, Simmons truly may be mentally ill.
There is no need for Simmons to speak on what will happen, and it comes off yet again as jealous, immature, and down right pathetic. For someone who has been reported to be in no hurry to be traded, it sure seems like that’s the opposite of what’s really happening in the Simmons camp.
The only reason Simmons would even speak on this situation is to push Morey away and possibly push the narrative of tampering but like every other move Simmons and Klutch Sports have made, this comes off as something so stupid, out of touch, and honestly at this point, hilarious.
Over the last week, the 76ers disgruntled star has slowly made his way back into the limelight, signing endorsement deals with eSports companies and liking tweets about him purchasing NFTs.
The 76ers are half a game out of first place in the Eastern Conference and are in no rush to move Simmons. I hope they hold onto him as long as possible and make this situation even more uncomfortable for him moving forward.
