On Monday, we went 1-1 with the two plays I dished out here on The Liberty Line. Honestly, it should have been an easy 2-0 on the day but Carolina needed 64 minutes to beat the Flyers 4-3 instead of 60. Shame on them. With the difference in juice, we ended up with no blood, living to fight another day and today, fight we shall.

We have two NCAA plays today but before we get into it, lets talk about an ultimate bad beat from last night. UConn was -2.5 (or 2 depending if you were luckily enough) against Villanova. With Nova down by one driving to the hoop, and we were dealt an all-time tough call to send UConn to the line.

If you’re on UConn you’re thinking to yourself, thank fucking god, bang two free throws and it’s home sweet home. Easy enough.

Andre Jackson steps up and hits the first one no problem putting UConn up by 2. With 0.2 on the clock the game is over. Rules say you need 0.3 to legally get off a shot so no need to kill the clock, just make the shot.

Andre Jackson either doesn’t understand how the rules work, or he had Nova +2.5 or maybe he just wanted to watch the world burn.

Thankfully, I didn’t touch this game. This is one that makes you throw a breakable item and your girlfriend/wife yells at you. Andre Jackson is a menace to society and I think he needs to be suspended for the rest of the year. This is much worse than the Howard bitch slap. Not even close.

Today’s Bets

The first one I just couldn’t stop looking at it all morning. Army -5.5 (-110) at home vs Bucknell. I was also looking at the under in this game as it’s hit 6 of the last 7 times these two have played.

However, the play will be the spread.

Army is slumping, losers of their last 6 games. Sitting at 13-15, it’s hard for me to believe a team that has been up and down all year in the conference is going to give this one up too.

Army is 9-4 at home and an awful 3-11 on the road but, one of those 3 wins coming at Bucknell earlier this season. In that game, Army used a strong second half to beat the Bisons by 7.

Tonight’s game could follow the same pattern. Mark this down, screen shot it, set a reminder for 6 pm tonight. IF Army is down at half by 3 or more. Army second half spread is a MAX play. Should be a great game either way, in terms of betting, 1 to 10 this is a 9.7 sweaty bet.

Creighton @ St. John’s over 148.5 (-122.)

Both of these teams like to get up and down the court and finally St. John’s is healthy. The first time these two met this year Creighton won easily, 87-64. The over under for that game was 151.5 and I’m no math expert but 87 + 64 = a heart breaking 0.5 loss if you had the over.

When this line opened I was shocked to see it as 147.5, as I’m writing this it’s moved to 148.5 and I wouldn’t be shocked if it’s north of 151 by tip.

The pace of play from both of these teams and their styles should make for a race to 80. Want to sprinkle a little on Creighton money line @ +180 or take the +5 @ -110, I don’t hate those either.
