76ers legend Nik Stauskas has Wilt Chamberlain-esque showing against the Wisconsin Herd

While everyone has been talking about the dominant showings of James Harden and Joel Embiid, one former Sixer had a performance that went under the radar tonight.
Former 76ers guard Nik Stauskas had a game for the ages for the Grand Rapids Gold of the NBA G-League. Sauce Castillo had 57 points on the night, but his start to the game was historic. Despite his showing, Stauskas was unable to break the record for most points in a game which is held by Russ Smith, who had 65 points.
Stauskas had 34 points on perfect shooting over the first 13 minutes of action. He was 11/11 from the field, with seven of those makes coming from beyond the arc. The Wisconsin Herd were single-handily outscored by Sauce in epic fashion.
Numerous G-League and personal records were broken, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Stauskas left the 76ers in 2017 and has bounced around several NBA and G-League franchises, most recently signing a ten-day contract with the Heat in December.
It’s crazy to think Stauskas is only 28, but his showings in Grand Rapids rival that of Jimmer Fredette during his tenure with the Shanghai Sharks.
Maybe this game will earn Sauce another shot in the NBA, but regardless, it’s still great to see him kicking ass in the G-League as long as it isn’t against the Blue Coats.
