Danny Green explains why he passed it to Tobias Harris over James Harden

Over the last few days, numerous NBA Twitter losers have been sharing a clip of James Harden “freaking out” at Danny Green for not passing to him on the inbound. This snippet has been blown out of proportion and mainly shared by jealous Nets fans hoping to drive a wedge between Harden and Philly already.
On his latest episode of “Inside the Green Room,” Danny Green explained why he didn’t pass to Harden, and shocker, it was a completely valid reason.
Green says that he saw someone coming behind Harden and opted to the easier pass to Tobias Harris down the court, who would have an advantage with a defender on Harden. The previous time a defender was that close, they had some issues with turnovers, and Green was just looking to make a clean play.
“As I’m taking the ball out, I see James, but I see someone sneaking up behind him. And in my vision of it, I thought he was closer than he actually really was from my angle. I just saw Tobias (Harris), so I thought if I get the ball up the floor we get the easy basket,” Green said. “(Harden) was like ‘Yo, why didn’t you give me the ball?’ I was like, ‘I mean, I saw Tobias open.’ It had nothing to do with the chemistry, it had nothing to do with that.”
Harden obviously didn’t see the defender by him, which concludes the most meaningless piece of Philly drama so far in 2022. I don’t know what NBA Twitter is going to do with themselves since this is cleared up, but they’ll probably continue to criticize Embiid through RAPTOR or something.
Regardless, Danny Green should NEVER pass the ball to Tobias Harris over James Harden. I don’t care if the entire team is draped all over Harden. The ball goes to him. No doubt about it.
