How the 76ers, players, and fans should treat Ben Simmons on Thursday night in South Philly

Reports this morning indicate that Ben Simmons will in fact be traveling to with the Nets to Philadelphia on Thursday, March 10th. He won’t be playing, obviously, but it does look like he will be in attendance.
I still have my doubts. I just can’t picture Ben Simmons sitting at the Wells Fargo Center on the opposing team’s bench but maybe I’m wrong.
Regardless, if Ben Simmons is on the bench Thursday night, there’s a list of things that should be addressed by both the Philadelphia 76ers and the fans in attendance.
Big Fendi should be the Bell Ringer.
There’s an online petition in the works that currently has 6,500 signatures to have Big Fendi be the 76ers Bell Ringer on Thursday night.
Quick refresher: Big Fendi is the gentleman in the nice suit that Joel Embiid tweeted out following the Ben Simmons trade. #RIPBozo
The 76ers should play a tribute video mocking Ben Simmons
The city of Philadelphia should thank Ben Simmons for nothing outside of his role in getting James Harden in a 76ers uniform.
That being said, the 76ers marketing team should run a tribute video showing Ben Simmons missing foul shots over and over again and then the now world famous video clip of him passing up a wide open dunk on Trae Young.
Every time Joel Embiid scores, he should point at Ben Simmons and laugh
Joel “Troel” Embiid needs to be on full display Thursday night. We all know the Embiid isn’t one to shy away from the spotlight and now is finally his chance to let Ben Simmons know how he really feels about him.
Embiid needs to point, give Simmons a stare, laugh at him, whatever, every single time down the court.
No one else on the 76ers should acknowledge Ben Simmons
Who is going to be nice to Simmons? Danny Green is on record saying that he doesn’t believe anyone will shake hands with Simmons on March 10th.
The entire team should be overly accepting to Seth Curry and Andre Drummond while leaving Ben Simmons ghosted to oblivion.
Unfortunately, this seems unlikely. I can see Tyrese Maxey (Klutch Sports unfortunately), Furkan Korkmaz (crush on Ben Simmons), and Tobias Harris (too nice of a person) all sharing words and probably a handshake with Simmons.
For the Fans…
Obviously, first and foremost, boo Ben Simmons relentlessly. That comes as no surprise to anyone in the city of Philadelphia.
We do however, need to be careful. The national media will be foaming at the mouth to paint 76ers fan in the most negative light possible.
Don’t throw things at Simmons. Don’t run on the court or behind the Nets bench. Just boo. Non-stop booing will do the trick.
