LeSean McCoy laments Eagles not landing elite QB on Twitter

Eagles fans throughout Philadelphia have kept their eye on a couple of elite quarterbacks to replace Jalen Hurts. Former Birds running back LeSean McCoy was one of those fans. However, with Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson both off the market as of today, he was disappointed to have missed out on one of them.
After the news broke, McCoy let Twitter know which guy he wanted to see in midnight green:
There’s actually a lot to take away from this one Tweet. However, the most important lesson here is that the sickness that infects all Philly fans is not just limited to the average person. Former Eagles legends are subject to the same offseason delusions just as much as you or I.
Hell, thinking we would’ve been able to get Russell Wilson might have been one of the more delusional thoughts a Birds fan can have. It’s comforting to see that level of fandom from a former player, in a way.
Beyond that, though, it’s crazy how disrespectful Eagles alumni seem towards Jalen Hurts. When the season ended in Tampa, McCoy and other former players let it be known that they felt Hurts wasn’t the guy on social media. This tweet from Shady is most likely proves he still feels that way.
If you agree with McCoy or not, it doesn’t matter to me. However, you simply can’t think this team is a Russell Wilson away from winning a Super Bowl.
Gotta say, if I’m Hurts, I’m pissed off big time right now. I know he’s not an elite QB by any means, but there’s no way he should take shit like that lying down. I’m not saying to respond publicly. That’d be cringe as fuck. But he should use that as motivation this offseason.
Of course, knowing Hurts, he’s probably already got the tweet hanging in the NovaCare Center.
This season, the Eagles have ample resources to build a strong roster around Hurts through the draft and free agency. I’m glad he’s getting the chance to prove himself with what should be a vastly improved team on both sides of the ball.
Shady McCoy, I hate to break it to you, but if Howie does what he’s supposed to do with three first-round picks, this Eagles team is going to look damn good with Hurts under center. You know how I know that?
He’s not going anywhere.

Well, at least not yet anyway…
