Report: Eagles not interested in selecting a QB in next month’s draft

After missing out on Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson this offseason, it looked like the Eagles could have potentially turned to the NFL Draft for a new quarterback. The Eagles attended Kenny Pickett’s Pro Day earlier this week and even bought him dinner, but it seems Jalen Hurts is still their guy.
Adam Schefter appeared on 97.5 this morning and once again reiterated that the Eagles are staying put with Jalen Hurts.
“I don’t view it that way. I don’t think the Eagles are big players in the QBs in this draft. I don’t think they’re shopping in that house at all.”
Schefter also reiterated that the Eagles were never in the mix for Watson, with both sides not making any effort to revisit talks from last season. Earlier this week, it was reported that Watson never wanted to go to Philly due to his friendship with Hurts.

It seemed very obvious before this news that the Eagles wouldn’t pursue any of the top QBs in next month’s draft. They appeared at Pickett’s Pro Day, but it was only QB coach Brian Johnson. Several other teams sent their GMs and numerous other staff members, including the Washington Commanders and Carolina Panthers.
Philadelphia can go down several different avenues with their three first-round selections next month, showing interest in Georgia DTs Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt.
