Newly-signed edge rusher Haason Reddick to wear Temple jersey number with Eagles

After asking fans what number he should wear earlier this week, it appears Haason Reddick has made his decision.
Earlier today he posted this jersey to Twitter, confirming the switch from #43 to #7.
During his time in Arizona and Carolina, he wore #43 but donned #7 and #58 during his time with the Temple Owls. #7 was worn by Reid Sinnett, but Reddick will be taking the number from the practice squad QB.
Previously, #7 was worn by backup quarterbacks Joe Flacco, Nate Sudfeld and most famously — Michael Vick.
Last season, the NFL amended the rules to allow players to wear a wider variety of jersey numbers. Linebackers can now wear 1-59, and 90-99, while defensive linemen can only wear 50-79 and 90-99. Panthers LB Shaq Thompson wore 7 last season, which Reddick would have likely taken if available.
More skill and defensive players have been electing to wear single-digits and there will certainly be a large increase in that this season. Last year players who didn’t change teams had to buy out the remaining stock of their old jerseys if they wished to switch numbers, which Darius Slay did.
Some other Eagles who could switch their jerseys include Miles Sanders, who teased it last season before sticking with #26, and K’Von Wallace, who wore #12 at Clemson.
