Eagles announce slew of jersey number changes ahead of 2022 season

Following their free agency signings, the Philadelphia Eagles quietly announced a new slew of number changes for the upcoming season.
Haason Reddick was the only popular change this season, moving from #43 back to #7, which he wore during his time at Temple. #7 was most recently worn by Reid Sinnett, who switched to #17 this offseason.
Wide receiver Zach Pascal will be moving from #14 to #11, becoming the first Eagle to wear #11 since Carson Wentz’s departure over a season ago.
Linebacker Kyzir White is switching from #44 to #43 since the Eagles retired #44 for Pete Retzlaff in 1965. DT Renell Wren will wear #98, which Haason Ridgeway wore last season. Ridgeway left this offseason, signing with the San Francisco 49ers.
Devon Allen has the most interesting number of them all, going with #39. Allen wore #13 at Oregon and also wore #5 earlier in his career, which is retired for Donovan McNabb.
According to the NFL’s new uniform rules that went into effect last season, wideouts are able to wear any number from 1-40 and 80-89.
A wide receiver wearing #39 is very weird to see. Hopefully, this is just a placeholder, like how the Patriots had Mac Jones wear #50 during training camp.
